It ain't me!
I've gotten a few emails from folks who are upset about the virus they think I am mailing to them...I'm not the one doing it. W32.Novarg.A@mm is a mass-mailing worm that arrives as an attachment with the file extension .bat, .cmd, .exe, .pif, .scr, or .zip. and is actually what is causing this. 90% of the emails I have received at this domain have been defaulted to my original hosting email because the virus fakes the name and sends itself on. I have received notice that mail from 'firstname.lastname@example.org', 'email@example.com', 'firstname.lastname@example.org' etc have all failed or contain virii. There's nobody here by those names. That's part of what the virus does when it mines YOUR infected computer for addresses...
Other names for 'Novarg' include:
- AKA W32/Mydoom@MM [McAfee]
- WORM_MIMAIL.R [Trend]
- Win32.Mydoom.A [Computer Associates]
- W32/Mydoom-A [Sophos]
- I-Worm.Novarg [Kaspersky]
