A recent article in the Denver Post said that Colorado has 91 types of specialized (or special interest) license plates, but a trip to the DMV website said there are over 100. Florida is said to lead the nation with over 720 types of specialized license plates on the road. I posted a question to a group of Marines around the country asking what type of Marine Corps license plates, if any, were offered by their state. Pictures will be added as quickly as I can get images online.
I need your help: The Maryland plates above are all shown on the Maryland MVA (Motor Vehicle Administration) website, but they have a disclaimer to 'contact the organization' if you are interested in purchasing that plate. For VMFA-321 and other orgnaizational plates, maybe that makes some sense. However, for Marine Reserve, or WWII veteran, who would you contact? I've had two Marines contact me already with this question and unfortunately I have no answers for them at this point.
